Modified Tipcomb Surface (MTS) technology is a gentle beadless purification method ideal for (ultra) High throughput DNA extraction.
MTS technology is based on a proven, longstanding technique of “spooling”, requiring no silica-based surfaces to capture DNA. A mild buffer (without chaotropic salts) is added to a lysed sample to cause the nucleic acids to precipitate and the modified surface on the tip is then used to gently capture it.
As this method captures solelythe nucleic acids in the sample, the amount of contaminants coisolated during this initial step are minimal,
requiring only a very small number of short purification washes before elution.
